1. Getting Started

1.        Requirements for Laptop: Min 40GB hard drives, DVD Rom, Serial Port, windows XP professional with service pack 2.

2.        no power failure during installation.

3.        takes 3-5 hours（depends on the speed of your laptop and the DVD drive）.

4.        We suggest the user read through the installation guide first and then install it step by step.

5.        operation based on the Windows XP Professional （servicepack2） environment.

6.        Partition for hard discs：  C: 15G with the name Star.

                                      D:20G with the name Recover.

                                      E: 20G with the name WIS.

                                      F: 20G with the name DAS.  (You may make it with Partition Magic.)

7.        Set serial port: rigth click ‘my computer’——》‘property’ ——》’hardware’——》 ‘Equipment Manager’——》‘port (COM and LPT)’ ——》right click ‘communication port’ (COM1)
——》‘property’——》‘port setting’——》Bit per second ‘19200’——》 ‘Advance’——》set COM as ‘COM2’, then click OK to save the setting.

2.Preparation

     1. Set up two new administratorsNote: after the successful installation of DAS, if you log out and relog in,you will find that the Administrator under which you install the DAS has been locked, in this case you can log in as another administrator to unlock it. Make sure there are two administrators, one is for DAS installation, another is a regular on without password.

2. Rename computer: right click ‘my computer’——》‘property’——》‘computer name’——》‘change’.

3.     1) Insert the DVD into the DVD driver

2) open ‘my computer’, right click DVD driver, copy all the files to Disc D.

 3) Open disc D, delete ‘XPSP2’ folder; open folder ‘Stardiag’, deleter the following files: CiscoACUMonitor, MSSecurity, MSSecurity2, Partitioning, pcAnywhere, SymAntivir.

     7. Go to ‘Start’——》‘Program’——》‘Benz-DAS installatino Guide’
         ——》‘4 Open Register interface’.
 

  
8. Go to ‘Start’——》‘Program’——》‘Benz-DAS installatino Guide’——》‘5 Open Keygen’, (see figure below) . Enter the Lan ID in to the LanID field in DAS keygen interface, fill in the number of users, click on the button located on the righ upper corner in order to registration code, then copy the registration code to Startkey, then ‘Save’.

Click on ‘OK’ , then close the window.   


3. DAS Installation

1. go to ‘Start’ ——》‘Setting’ ——》‘Control panel’ ——》‘Windows firewall’——》‘Close’.

Right click the desktop——》‘property’ ——》‘Screensaver protection’, set the ‘screen saver’ as ‘No’; the ‘power application’ as ‘always on’; ‘power supply’ as ‘never’. Click on ‘Apply’, ‘OK’.

.2. go to ‘my computer’ ——》Disc D ——》Stardiag ——》double click ‘Setup’ to start installation, ignore all the error messages.  

This takes 1-2 hours, depending on the speed of your laptop and the DVD driver. After installation, the window below will pop up.

Note: do not click finish until you finish the steps below:

1. Go to ‘Start’ ——》‘Run’, enter regedit to go to registering interface.

Double click on the shortcut icon on the desktop, if the following window pop up, means a successful installation:
